True Value Makes an Appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"

True Value made a special appearance on Monday, May 24 during "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." When one of the top television talk shows extended an invitation to True Value to help out a family in need, the co-op was quick to accept. During this episode, Ellen featured a family from Beaverton, Ore., that was down on their financial luck. The wife lost her job and their new home was in need of major repairs, which they couldn't afford. This was a great opportunity for the True Value brand to reach across the entire country just prior to the important Memorial Day sales weekend. The viewership for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is 3.2 million, in addition to a Web site monthly reach of 1.6 million, making for a combined reach of 4.9 million. The show reaches 150-plus television markets in the U.S., which is 71.4 percent of all television markets. And May happens to be sweeps month, so the Ellen show was lining up its biggest shows of the year with big guests to drive big viewership. If you broke this down to dollars and cents, this appearance has the advertising value equivalency of more than $140,000. Check out a clip from the show "Another Huge Yay! May!
